OUR STORY

Hi! Thank you for stopping by my website. I'm Kelli Diane, and this is my story...

When I was a little girl my mom would always try and have me carry a purse. I really disliked purses and did not want anything to do with them. When I was about 21, one of my best friends was really into purses and then I started liking them. I would go to downtown LA and buy a purse almost every weekend.

It got to the point where my mom told me I could not bring another purse into her house. I would even hide the purses that I bought so that my parents would not know I had brought another purse into their house. However, I was a young student and couldn't afford expensive purses and that is why I would go downtown and sometimes get 3 purses for $10.00.

To a college student that is a great deal. (That is actually a good deal for anyone these days!) However, they were not good quality purses and after awhile some of them fell apart.

Anytime my birthday or Christmas came around, I would always get purses as gifts because everyone knows how much I love them. Eventually, I realized that I had way too many purses and I needed to stop buying them. I believe I had one in every color. My friends also knew that when they had a birthday they were most likely going to receive a purse from me.

So, one day I came up with the idea that I should design my own purses. Why not have people purchase my purses and receive MY purses as gifts? It was an idea that I thought about for two years.

Finally, I started drawing some designs that I liked and then came up with an idea for a logo. I came up with a logo and then contacted a friend that I grew up with and asked him if he could help me design this logo. Once I met with him and got the ball rolling, I was on a mission to start the process of designing my own purses and starting my own purse line.

The process was starting and I began to get nervous. Is this really happening? Am I really about to make my dream come true? I decided to say a prayer and ask God to give me a sign that this was the right thing to do. Not even a minute later, the red light on my phone lit up, which meant I had a message. It was a quote sent by a family friend:

"Many of us are afraid to follow our passions, to pursue what we want most because it means taking risks and even facing failure. But to pursue your passion with all your heart and soul is success in itself. The greatest failure is to have never really tried." -Robyn Allan.

I got chills all up and down my arm and quickly ran outside and called my god sister to tell her. I knew right then that it was time to move forward with Kelli Diane Designs and make my dream a reality.

I did not take any classes in design. I started drawing my purse designs, came up with measurements and fabric ideas and set out to find a manufacturer.

So here I am today, pursuing a dream that as a little girl I would have never imagined would have happened, designing high quality leather purses at an affordable price. I believe that in life everything happens for a reason and that people were put into your life for a reason, season or lifetime. It is your job to figure it out.

No matter how many people discourage you, or dont believe in your dream keeping pursuing it. It is your dream, not theirs, and you are the only one that can make your dream a reality!
